Toolkit

Financial literacy is key to ensure economic access, growth & empowerment. However, it is a field not always ensured especially among the youngest generation & despite acknowledging the need for better financial education as an empowering youth tool, youth workers do not feel necessarily equipped with the financial competencies & the innovative teaching non-formal methodologies to successfully reach & empower youngsters in the field.

The toolkit will be divided into 3 main parts:

1. General collection of methodologies, approaches & activities that could help youth workers in reaching out to disadvantaged young people.

2. Second specific part mainly designed to ensure the facilitation of several non-formal education tools, activities & methods that can be used by youth workers to teach to disadvantaged targeted young groups (but transferable to other youth groups) the different concepts addressed by financial literacy, addressing 8 main key areas (to be adjusted as a result of project development  & findings): personal & organizations financial booking (Income, Expenses, Assets & Liabilities); credit & debt; interests; the value of time; inflation; identity theft & safety; digital finances.

3.Second specific part mainly designed to ensure the facilitation of several non-formal education tools, activities & methods that can be used by youth workers to teach disadvantaged targeted young groups (but transferable to other youth groups) the practical applications of financial literacy in real life & how they can contribute to it to the betterment of their societies communities & their personal life. This part will address 2 main key areas (to be expanded & adjusted if needed because of project development & findings): entrepreneurial start-up and how to access the labor market through financial education.
